ALGOFACT

Mersin

Software for Mersin’s port, free zone and fresh-produce exporters.

ALGOFACT is a Turkish software and AI engineering company. In Mersin we work with logistics firms, free zone traders and fresh-produce exporters on shipment visibility, customs and ERP integration, cold-chain data and computer vision in packhouses. Our engineers sit in Adana, inside the same Çukurova (TR62) region as Mersin, and at Ankara TEKMER. Projects begin with a 30-minute discovery call and are delivered under ISO 27001:2022.

Why Mersin runs on logistics data

Mersin sits on Türkiye’s eastern Mediterranean coast and handles a large share of the country’s container traffic. The Çukurova Development Agency’s 2024-2028 regional plan ranks Mersin International Port first in Türkiye by local cargo and second by total container volume, and expects an expansion due in 2026 to lift handling capacity from 2.6 to 3.6 million TEU with a quay of 880 meters.

Next to the port is the Mersin Free Zone, the country’s first. Its operator, MESBAŞ, reports more than 400 registered companies, and the regional plan describes the zone as fully occupied, with steps underway toward a new port and free zone at Taşucu. For an exporter, that density means the same container is tracked by a forwarder, a customs broker, a warehouse and a customer, each on a different screen. Most of our work here starts by turning that scattered data into one operational view.

The local ecosystem, in brief

Mersin Teknopark (Technoscope)

A technology development zone founded by the governorship, Mersin University, Tarsus University, the Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations, the Mersin and Tarsus chambers of commerce and Mersin OSB. Tenants are listed under IT, food, logistics, medical and defense, among others.

Mersin Agropark

Described in the regional plan as Türkiye’s first agricultural technology park, a separate home for agritech ventures.

Mersin Tarsus OSB

One of the two largest industrial zones in the region together with Adana Hacı Sabancı OSB, with a model factory and innovation center on site.

Agri-food processing zone

The plan reports that work has started on an export-focused digital transformation center inside Mersin’s specialized agricultural processing OSB.

Citrus country

Using 2022 data, the plan attributes 79% of Türkiye’s lemons, 92% of its grapefruit and 48% of its mandarins to Adana and Mersin combined.

Programs that can support a digital project

The TR62 plan lists productivity-focused digital transformation of manufacturing as a formal measure, covering digital maturity assessments, sector roadmaps and data security. In 2026 the Çukurova Development Agency also announced results for a repayable financing program aimed at SMEs’ green transition, and new calls appear on the agency’s announcements page.

Nationally, KOSGEB’s SME digital transformation program and TÜBİTAK’s 1501 and 1507 R&D programs are the usual options for software-heavy work. Eligibility is decided by each program’s guide and evaluators, not by us. We help by writing the technical scope and work packages in a form you can use in an application.

How delivery works from Adana and Ankara

A 30-minute discovery call comes first. If there is a fit, a founder presents the proposed scope and, where risk is high, a proof of concept. Analysis, architecture and the build run from our engineering offices in Adana and Ankara TEKMER, and you review intermediate releases in a staging environment.

On-site steps such as positioning cameras over a packing line or training warehouse staff are discussed during discovery and scheduled in the project plan. Go-live comes with access control and monitoring, and handover includes runbooks your team can operate from.

Questions we hear from Mersin

Approach
01Is ALGOFACT physically present in Mersin?

No. Our engineering offices are in Adana (Çukurova) and Ankara TEKMER. Adana is in the same TR62 region as Mersin, but meetings default to online, and any in-person session or site work is planned during discovery.

02Can you connect our free zone entity’s warehouse system to the parent company’s ERP?

Yes. We build integrations over APIs, database access or file exchange, and document in the first analysis which data moves in which direction and who approves it.

03Does computer vision work on a citrus packing line?

For visual criteria such as size, color and surface defects, usually yes. Lighting and belt speed drive accuracy, so we first collect images from your real line and measure results in a small proof of concept before you commit.

04We export to Europe. Can the system handle English-language documents and buyers?

Yes. Interfaces, reports and document checks can work in English and Turkish, and buyer-facing portals can be delivered in English from the first release.

05Will you file the development agency application for us?

No, the applicant is your company. We prepare the technical scope, timeline and expected outputs so they can go into your file, and the agency decides eligibility.
