ALGOFACT

İzmir, Türkiye

An engineering partner for İzmir’s port, export and manufacturing businesses.

ALGOFACT is a Turkish software and AI engineering company that builds custom software, AI systems and integrations for organizations operating in İzmir: exporting manufacturers, port and logistics operators, food exporters and international companies with plants or free zone entities in the city. Work starts with a 30-minute discovery call. Engineering is delivered from our offices in Adana and Ankara TEKMER under ISO/IEC 27001:2022; İzmir is a service area, and any on-site work is planned per project.

What shapes software work in İzmir

İzmir has been a trading port for most of its history, and its current regional plan leans into that. The 2024-2028 İzmir Regional Plan, prepared by the İzmir Development Agency (İZKA), sets the vision of a resilient and vibrant port city leading in green transformation and blue growth. Its measures include raising the cargo share of TCDD İzmir Port, improving access to the Aliağa port cluster, connecting the Kemalpaşa Logistics Center to the port by rail and moving ports toward smart technologies.

The province is also one of Türkiye’s main export bases. Ministry of Trade figures by company activity province place İzmir third in 2025, after İstanbul and Kocaeli. The Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone alone hosts 650 companies employing about 55,000 people, concentrated in textiles and apparel, machinery, automotive supply, metal, plastics, chemicals, food and electrical and electronics.

For a buyer this means most projects sit at a boundary: between a plant and a port, an ERP and a customs workflow, or a sales team in Europe and a production team in the city. That is where custom software earns its keep, and where AI becomes useful once the underlying data is reliable.

The local ecosystem you may already work with

Teknopark İzmir

Founded in 2002 and operating since 2004, with its main campus on the İzmir Institute of Technology (İYTE) grounds. Its highlighted sectors are software, energy, chemicals, defense and machinery.

Ege Teknopark

The technology development zone linked to Ege University, one of the city’s routes for university and industry R&D projects.

İzmir Bilimpark

A production-oriented technology park in Menderes, active since 2014, founded with İzmir University of Economics, İTOB OIZ, the İzmir Chamber of Commerce and Aegean exporter associations.

Atatürk OIZ

A 6.24 million m² zone in Çiğli, 20 km from İzmir Port. Its management reports annual exports of about USD 4.4 billion.

Aegean Free Zone

The free zone in Gaziemir, founded and operated by ESBAŞ, home to companies trading and producing under free zone rules.

Universities

Ege University, Dokuz Eylül University, İYTE and İzmir Katip Çelebi University supply much of the city’s engineering and research talent.

Public funding for Turkish entities

If your company operates through a Turkish legal entity, several public programs may be relevant. İZKA opens financial support calls periodically; recent themes include green transformation in production (2025) and digital transformation in the public sector (2022). Together with Teknopark İzmir, the agency also runs Accelerate İzmir, an international growth accelerator whose fifth cohort presented at Demo Day in October 2026.

At national level, KOSGEB support lines and TÜBİTAK’s 1501 (industrial R&D) and 1507 (SME R&D start-up) programs are the ones most often considered for software and AI projects. Eligibility depends on company size, R&D content and each call’s terms, and the decision belongs to the institution. We do not promise approval; we write the technical scope, work packages and architecture clearly enough to be used in an application.

How an engagement runs

  1. 01

    Discovery call

Thirty minutes on the process, the systems involved, the data and the constraints, held online in English or Turkish.
  2. 02

    Founder presentation

If the project is a fit, our founder presents the proposed scope, risks and a delivery plan to your team.
  3. 03

Proof of concept where risk is high

Uncertain models or integrations are tested on a small scope first, so the go or no-go decision rests on evidence.
  4. 04

    Build and go-live

Engineering runs from Adana and Ankara TEKMER with access control and monitoring. Steps that need presence at a plant or warehouse are agreed case by case.
  5. 05

    Handover

Runbooks and documentation for your team, with an optional embedded team after the first release.

Questions from teams in İzmir

Approach
01Is ALGOFACT located in İzmir?

No. Our engineering offices are in Adana (Çukurova) and Ankara TEKMER (Çankaya), and our US address is in Dover, Delaware. İzmir is a service area: we work with teams there online and plan any on-site steps during the discovery call.

02Can you work with our entity in the Aegean Free Zone?

We can build and integrate software for companies in the free zone the same way we do for any client. Contracting, invoicing and data handling questions specific to free zone rules are clarified with your finance and legal teams before the project starts.

03Our headquarters is outside Türkiye. Who is our point of contact?

You work directly with the project lead and the engineers who build the system, in English. The contracting entity, Algofact Yazılım ve Teknoloji A.Ş. in Türkiye or Algofact Software and Technology Inc. in the US, is settled during scoping.

04Can you integrate with port, customs and warehouse systems?

We connect directly where systems offer APIs and structure data that arrives as files, email or portal exports where they do not. Which external systems we access, and with what permissions, is agreed with you during discovery.

05How do you handle data security for a plant in İzmir?

Delivery runs under our ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified information security management system. Where data must stay on site, models and services can run on your own servers or in a private cloud environment.
