Samsun
Software for Samsun’s medical device makers, port and food processors.
ALGOFACT is a Turkish software and AI engineering company. In Samsun we work with surgical instrument and medical device manufacturers, port and rail logistics operators and food processors on traceability, technical documentation, healthcare integrations and operational data. Our engineers work from Adana and Ankara TEKMER under ISO 27001:2022. Each engagement opens with a 30-minute discovery call, where any on-site work is identified and scheduled.
A medical instrument cluster moving toward devices
Samsun is better known abroad for its port than for medical technology, yet the 2024-2028 regional plan of the Central Black Sea Development Agency (OKA) describes a medical instrument sector that grew out of the city’s precision metalworking from the 1990s. The plan counts more than 40 businesses, exporting mainly to Germany and other European countries as well as the United States, and notes that the MEDICLUST cluster is recognized as mature by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Türkiye’s first and only vocational high school for medical devices is in Samsun’s Tekkeköy district.
The plan’s stated goal for the sector is the move from instruments to higher-value medical devices that integrate electronics and software. It records three medical software companies at Samsun Teknopark, a biomedical engineering program at Samsun University, and biostatistics and medical informatics programs at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ). For manufacturers here, software is becoming part of the product, not just a back-office tool.
Port, rail and the Anatolian hinterland
OKA also describes Samsun Port as the only Black Sea port with a rail connection. Operations were transferred in 2010 for 36 years and continue under the SAMSUNPORT name, and the Gelemen logistics center opened in 2007. The plan notes close trade ties by road and rail with provinces including Sivas, Kayseri, Ankara, Konya and Malatya. Container, RO-RO and bulk operations running side by side create a clear use for software that puts bookings, yard status and rail planning in the same data.

Industrial core
Canik and Tekkeköy are the province’s production base. Twelve companies from the Istanbul Chamber of Industry’s top-1000 list operate in Tekkeköy, where most medical device producers are also located.
OKA programs
In 2026 OKA announced the Rota Karadeniz scale-up program, offering one-to-one market and growth consulting to technology startups in the technoparks of Samsun, Çorum and Tokat.
National programs
TÜBİTAK 1501 and 1507 for software-heavy R&D and KOSGEB’s SME digital transformation program for digitalization. Each program’s guide decides eligibility, and we do not promise funding.
From first call to production
Discovery covers your product, the systems you run and any regulatory constraints. A founder then presents the scope and, for risky parts, a proof of concept. Business analysis, architecture and the build run from our engineering offices in Adana and Ankara TEKMER, with releases reviewed in a staging environment.
If the project needs observation on the production floor or user training, the timing is agreed during discovery and written into the plan. We go live with access control and monitoring, hand over runbooks and can keep an embedded team on the product after the first release.

No. Our engineering offices are in Adana (Çukurova) and Ankara TEKMER. Samsun clients meet us online, and steps that need on-site work are planned during discovery.

We build the software side with traceable requirements, test records and release notes, and prepare the software documentation your technical file needs. Regulatory strategy, conformity assessment and submissions remain with you and your notified body or regulator.
03Can you work alongside our medical software startup at Samsun Teknopark?
Yes, as added engineering capacity or as the AI partner. Who builds which module and how intellectual property is shared are written into the contract at the start.
04Can you pull port and rail data into our own systems?
Yes, through whatever APIs, EDI messages or file exchanges are available to you. Data ownership and update frequency are clarified in the first analysis.
05Can a non-Turkish parent company be the contracting party?
Yes. ALGOFACT operates as Algofact Software and Technology Inc. in the United States, with an address in Dover, Delaware, and as Algofact Yazılım ve Teknoloji A.Ş. in Türkiye. Which entity signs is agreed during scoping.
